Coin Project
This is an extra-curricular assignment that is open to anyone. Using internet resources, you will research, identify, and write an “article” about an authentic, ancient Roman coin, which will be offered for sale at the Charter School of Wilmington Auction In addition to biographical information about the coin’s issuer, your article will also answer the following questions:
- Who issued the coin, and when?
- What is its denomination, and out of what is it made?
- What is its obverse legend, and what does it mean?
- What is pictured on the reverse?
- What is its reverse legend, and what does it mean?
- Why would the issuer have chosen the particular reverse image? What message does it send?
If you are interested, please see me for a coin and for details of the specific requirements.
